April 10th Wedding day for Brighlynne and Ben

Brighlynne married Ben James on April 12th in the Tucson Temple. She looked beautiful!! They had the wedding dinner and reception at our place. It was so much fun preparing and having it here. I put lights in 10 of our mesquite trees. Scott and Suzie put lights along the path leading to the back lot where they had built a dance floor. Bella, Olivia and Hailey made the wedding cake. It was awesome! Nate Calridge DJ'd he did a great job and we danced all night.

March 18th , 43 years young!

I love my birthday because it always falls under Spring break. Anna's school was not on spring break so Benajin secretly took her out of school and Bella left school(normally the UofA is at spring break too but because of Covid they cancelled spring break for college students fearing they would spread Covid faster) and we all went out to lunch at Jason's Deli. They have free ice cream so thats always a win! The kids made a box of Lesley'Os a spin off of the cherrios ceral box. Inside was touching notes. It was a great birthday, parents came over for dinner. It was lovely.

March 17th New windows!!

Our house was built in the 1970's but our windows were made in the 1950's....so this upgrade was due! We have wanted to do this for the last 4 years. This week was spring break so I was able to go on a family skii trip AND help Benjamin with the new windows (well sorta). Once again it was dear old Dad helping. What a blessing he has been to our fmaily and homestead.

Family ski trip March 14-16th

The family minus Anna went up to snowbowl to go skiing. Covid has brought a lot of travcel restrictions. Anna's school requires a 14 day quarentine if you leave the city as well as a negative covid test. Anna did not want to mis school for 14 days so she opted to staty home. We missed her! We got a hotel that had a bunk bed and two queen beds, it was a perfect fit and a fun setup. We hit the slopes early and stayed till we were kicked off the mountain. The kids are natural skiiers and since Benjamin and I were there two weeks earlier we kept up. Parkin and I had several races down the slope it was great fun! We had lunch on the deck of the lodge, no indoor dinning because of covid. For lunch we oredered 4 hamburgers and 4 hot dogs and 4 Gateraids...it was over $110!!! mercy that was a lot of money and we didn't even have fries! Later that night we went thrift store shopping a family favorite. We all walkwed away with some deal. Then we wernt to a 50's diner for dinner. We sapent the same amoutn as lunch but had 4 times as much food including shakes!! On the dirve homw we stopped at Montezumas Castle an ancient Indian community of sliff dwellers. It was beautiful!!

Snow in Tucson!!! March 13th

 The first day of spring break, Tucson was greeted with snow!! We were thrilled. It's been so dang dry. Last year was the driest year on record. My trees are hurting especially without a well. The fun part was that the news did not predict snow. Adrianna came running into our room at 6 am because she noticed the white stuff outside her window. We woke up all the kids and went on a hike. It was so beautiful. Dirt looks beautiful covered in snow. It warmed up quick like it does here but we had a few magical hours.

Bella Baby Bonkers Boo turns 20!! March 8th

Bella turned 20!! How is this possible since I'm in my late 20's ...Benjamin grilled chicken, I made fettuccine alfredo and we had pumpkin pie to honor our oldest daughter. We had her roommate (cousin Madison whom she loves), best friend (Hallie) and grandparents over. We love this girl. She is an excellent example always joyful which makes her fun to be around. Her uncle Pete gave her some excellent relationship advice. He said to look back with fond memories and leave hard feelings in her "teens." She has taken this motto and has ran with it. See what I mean about an excellent example!!

Couples trip to Snowbowl March 5th

 We went to Flagstaff to go skiing with our Adventure buddies Sherry and Clint Whetten. These two are always up for fun and this trip did not disappoint. First they love classy hotels, so that's always exciting because we love to save a buck but are easily influenced. We had a day of skiing, a night of hot tubbing and we ate at our favorite Thai food place. Sherry and I have eaten there a couple times for girls trips with Sherry but this was Benjamin's first and he loved it. It truly is the yummest Thai food. A skii trip without injuries is always a win too!
